From 1932 to 1936, Federico García Lorca, the Spanish poet and playwright, traveled with his company La Barraca bringing theater to rural Spain for free.
During this time, La Barraca presented 13 plays in 74 different locations.
The Spanish Civil War put an end to the project and to Federico’s life. He was killed by fascists in Granada on August 18, 1936.
This footage of his time with La Barraca is priceless.
